Assignment #11: Digital Citizenship Videos

- Teacher will play videos one at a time. Videos - In between each video, you will have time to ask questions, make comments (appropriate), and discuss the content of the video. You will also answer questions in a Google Form.
- Login to your Pinckney Pirate email in Chrome and then navigate back to this page. You will click on the following link and answer an in depth question after each video. It is a Google Form entitled Digital Citizenship Videos. Here is the link http://goo.gl/612sNL.
- The teacher will give you about 5 minutes to answer each question.
- MAKE SURE YOU CLICK ON SUBMIT TO SAVE YOUR ANSWERS.
- Take your time and answer each item thoughtfully.
- You could watch the videos more than once if there is time.

- I can create a presentation, web page, newsletter or information brochure using animations, graphs, charts, audio, graphics or video to show information to an audience.
- Watch the video, read the Introduction and the Key Vocabulary.
- Make a Brochure in Google Slides.
- Create a text box for each vocabulary word. Copy and paste the 4 key vocabulary definitions into your brochure.
- Put an image of the symbol for the vocabulary word by each word.
- On the back (pg.2) inside, answer the following questions:

- Open a Google Doc to use for typing a list of words.
- Type 30 words that tell about you and your interests. REPEAT words that are important to you. The more times you type a word, the larger the word will appear in the graphic.
- Open Tagul.
- In either program, click on the word CREATE Now.
- Click on Clear all (Clear all words)
- Click on Import words.
- Copy and paste your words into the window.
- Click on Import words
- Try out the Shaples, Font and Layout.
- Click on Visualize.
- Click on Print and Change Destination to Save as .pdf
- Go to pdfresizer.com to edit your .pdf Choose crop .pdf and use logic.

- Think of at least 6 questions (10 max) you would like to ask and find out the answers to.
- You MUST HAVE 4 different types of questions, i.e; multiple choice, short answer, scale, checklist, etc.
- The Question Title is like a header. Example: Favorite Color
- The Help Text is where you can ask the question. Example: What is your favorite color. OR Enter your favorite color here.
- Open your responses in a spreadsheet. Highlight a column of data. Alphabetize the email addresses. Highlight a row of data. Save as a .pdf. Turn in through Google Classroom.
Assignment #7: Pinckney Community Schools Acceptable Use Policy Poster

- I can present a concept using a model, simulation, or concept-mapping software.
- Discuss: Have you ever gone online at a hotel or a restaurant? What do you have to agree to before you can use their Internet connection or computer? Does anyone know what an Acceptable Use Policy is?
- Click on the following link: Pinckney Community Schools AUP. This is what you agree to when you use the Internet at school. Read and discuss the Responsibilities and the Disciplinary Action sections. Change the ideas into easy kid terms.
- Click on the following Link to a Google Draw file called PCS AUP. To make it your own so that you can edit it, click on File>Make a copy.
- Complete it by putting at least 5 key points from the Acceptable Use Policy into the Inspiration Page. You are basically making a poster about the Pinckney Community Schools Acceptable Use Policy. Make it so that a 4th or 5th grader could understand it. Here is an example.
- To turn it in, name the file hr_username_PCSAUP, download it as a .pdf, and turn it in to Google Classroom.

- Download this file Google Search.
- From the downloads folder, open the document with Doc Hub. Go to the Chrome Store and add the app Doc Hub.
- Open the Google Search Document using Doc Hub. Make a text box for each question. Click inside the text box and write. Change the size of the font to 12.
- Search for the answers in Google. Sort by reading level. Fill in all the questions using text boxes.
- Save the Doc Hub document as a .pdf
- Rename the file username_search and turn it in through Google Classroom.
- Create a new Google Doc.
- Search on 5 topics that you are interested in. Find some random facts.
- Write 5 (five) questions based on the facts that you found. Make them tricky but not impossible!
- Name it hr_username_5Qs
- Turn it in through Google Classroom.
Assignment #4: Class Pledge to Stay Safe Online - We will create a class "movie" of partner groups expressing personal reflections on assigned parts of the pledge.

- Procedure:
- Click on the following link for the EDL Digital Citizenship Pledge. It will open in a new tab.
- Read through all 10 parts of the pledge.
- Get into groups with your partners. You will be assigned one part of the pledge.
- Choose a person in the group to be the Recorder. The Recorder will create a new Google Doc and type your part of the pledge into the document.
- Discuss why your part of the Pledge is important for everyone. Why is it important to you? You will write a script for your group that allows you to read your part of the pledge and each take turns talking about why it is important. You can also talk about a situation or a story that is an example that relates to the pledge.
- Type your script into your Google document. Call it Pledge Script and share it with your partners. You will use the Script as you record your own and your partners' "story".
- Add the extension Screencastify to your Chrome.
- Record your script for your group's part of the pledge. See example.
- Your recording will go into your Google Drive. If you need to edit it, you can use WeVideo.
- Create a Google Slide. See example
- Add your part of the Pledge and it's number.
- Add the names of your Group Members.
- Add a link to your video.
- Add a screenshot of your Group Members.

- Number, bullet, make a list using commas, or write a paragraph for your 4 main points from the video.

Assignment #1: Introduction Challenge! Create a short presentation in Google Slides that tells me and the class something (many things) about you! Tell us about the things that you like and are interested in. Tell us about your family, your hobbies, favorite music, movies, sports, video games, books! You will need a minimum of 4 slides. You can use pictures from home or from another device. Plan to present on Thursday.
