- Teacher will play videos one at a time. Videos - In between each video, you will have time to ask questions, make comments (appropriate), and discuss the content of the video. You will also answer questions in a Google Form.
- Login to your Pinckney Pirate email in Chrome and then navigate back to this page. You will click on the following link and answer an in depth question after each video. It is a Google Form entitled Digital Citizenship Videos. Here is the link http://goo.gl/612sNL.
- The teacher will give you about 5 minutes to answer each question.
- MAKE SURE YOU CLICK ON SUBMIT TO SAVE YOUR ANSWERS.
- Take your time and answer each item thoughtfully.
- You could watch the videos more than once if there is time.

- I can tell what type of web site it is by looking at the three letters on the end of the URL (domain name).
- I can use digital resources to find information.

- What does the word "bias" mean?
- Keep in mind the following questions to help you recognize bias:
- Is the information presented in a fair objective manner?
- Has some information been left out?
- Can the facts be verified with another source? (cross-referencing)
- What is the tone of the language used and is it free of emotion-arousing words?
- Are there pictures and photos which may arouse emotion?
- Is the appearance of the website appealing and colorful with lots of graphics, animation, or celebrities trying to grab your attention?
- Does the website contain advertising?
- Discuss: There are millions of pages of information on the World Wide Web on everything from Aardvarks to Zithers and much more in between. Not all the sites you find are truthful. Web sites are created for many purposes including: PIES

- What is a domain name? The three letters at the end of a URL (web address) can give you information about the site's mission or purpose.

- .edu: A site affiliated with a higher education institution.
- .gov: A federal government site.
- .il.us: A state government site, this may also include public schools and community colleges.
- .uk (United Kingdom) : A site originating in another country (as indicated by the 2 letter code).
- ~: The tilde usually indicates a personal page.

- Use the Annotate button to write on the .pdf. Make a text box. Click inside the text box and write. Change the size of the font to 12.
- Search for the answers in Google. Sort by reading level. Fill in all the questions using text boxes.
- Rename the file hr_username_search and put it in my Dropbox.
- Open a Pages, Google Docs or Open Office Document.
- Write 5 (five) questions that are of interest to you and you have found the answer for. Make them tricky but not impossible!

- Go back to the 21Things4Students - T1Q5. Read and discuss Part 2 with your neighbor
Assignment #2: Class Pledge to Stay Safe Online - We will create a class "movie" of partner groups expressing personal reflections on assigned parts of the pledge.

- Click on the following link for the EDL Online Safety Pledge. It will open in Pages.
- Read through all 10 parts of the pledge.
- Get into your groups. Open a new Pages Document and copy and paste your part of the Pledge onto that page.
- Discuss why your part of the Pledge is important for everyone. Why is it important to you?
- Type your thoughts and answers onto your Pages document. Write a script to use as you record your own and your partner's "take" in iMovie about your part of the pledge.
- Open iMovie - iMovie directions.
- Create one Keynote slide. Copy your groups part of the pledge onto your slide. Drag your video onto your slide and resize it. Save your slide to the Desktop (name your file: period_username_part#pledge), drag it to your Server and put it in your Teacher dropbox.

- Set a Goal for the week based on what you did today during your 10 minutes.
