- Teacher will play videos one at a time. Videos - In between each video, you will have time to ask questions, make comments (appropriate), and discuss the content of the video. You will also answer questions in a Google Form. Chromebooks MUST BE CLOSED while videos are being played. Watch the videos carefully. They are short and deserve your attention.
- Click on the following link and answer an in depth question after each video. It is a Google Form entitled Digital Citizenship Videos. Here is the video response form link.
- The teacher will give you about 5 minutes to answer each question.
- MAKE SURE YOU CLICK ON SUBMIT TO SAVE YOUR ANSWERS at the end of the class period even if you haven't watched all of the videos.
- Take your time and answer each item thoughtfully. Click on SUBMIT at the end of the class period.
- You could watch the videos more than once if there is time.

- Using the Project Planner, plan your slideshow and script.
- Create a Google Slides show of 10 slides: one for each of the 9 Elements plus a title slide.
- Using pictures and keywords, you will explain the importance of each of the 9 elements.
- Do NOT use a LOT of words. You will be doing a voice over that will explain everything.
- Animate the images and text boxes or words that you use to explain each element.
- Each slide should have at least 2 images and 3 animated objects.

- Create a text box for each vocabulary word. Copy and paste the 4 key vocabulary definitions into your brochure. See student example.

- Type 12 words that tell about you and your interests. REPEAT words that are important to you. The more times you type a word, the larger the word will appear in the graphic.

- Click on the green CREATE button.
- Click on Import in the upper left hand corner.
- Copy and paste your words into the window.
- Click on Import words.
- Click on Visualize.
- Try out the Shapes, Font, Layout, and Style. Click on visualize after each change.
- Click on Visualize after each change to see what it looks like.
- Show your partner and discuss what you like about it.
- Click on Download (Click on the big blue Download button at the top of the page).
- Choose Standard.PNG. It will download to your Drive.
- Turn it in through Google Classroom.

- Go to your Google Drive and find the Internet Scavenger Hunt document.
- From the downloads folder, open the document with Doc Hub. Go to the Chrome Store and add the app Doc Hub.
- Open the Google Search Document using Doc Hub. Make a text box for each question by clicking on the A tool in the top tool bar. Click inside the text box and write. Change the size of the font to 12 if it's too big or small.
- Search for the answers in Google. Sort by reading level. Go to the actual website that you have searched up. (Click on the link that Google gives you). Put the answer to the question and include the URL where you found the answer. Copy and paste the URL into a text box under the question on your worksheet.
- When complete, Click on the download arrow in the upper right hand corner.
- Download the document to G Drive
- Rename the file "last name Search" and turn it in through Google Classroom.
- Create a new Google Doc or create a new document in Doc Hub.
- Search on 5 topics that you are interested in. Find some random facts.
- Write 5 (five) questions based on the facts that you found. Make them tricky but not impossible!
- Name it last name_5Qs
- Download as a .pdf
- Turn it in through Google Classroom.

- Discuss: Have you ever gone online at a hotel or a restaurant? What do you have to agree to before you can use their Internet connection or computer? Does anyone know what an Acceptable Use Policy is?
- Click on the following link: Pinckney Community Schools AUP. This is what you agree to when you use the Internet at school. Read and discuss the Responsibilities and the Disciplinary Action sections. Change the ideas into easy kid terms.
- Click on the following Link to a Google Draw file called PCS AUP. Click on File>Make a Copy to make it your own so that you can edit it.
- Complete it by putting at least 5 key points from the Acceptable Use Policy into the Inspiration Page. You are basically making a poster about the Pinckney Community Schools Acceptable Use Policy. Make it so that a 4th or 5th grader could understand it. Here is an example.
- Working with a partner or 2 partners, check over each other's projects using this Peer Project Protocol. At the bottom of your project, put the name of the person that edited yours.
- To turn it in, name the file PCSAUP Last Name, download it as a .pdf, and turn it in to Google Classroom.
Assignment #5: Class Pledge to Stay Safe Online - We will create a class "movie" of partner groups expressing personal reflections on assigned parts of the pledge.

- Procedure:
- Click on the following link for the EDL Digital Citizenship Pledge. It will open in a new tab.
- Read and discuss all 10 parts of the pledge. Use Note Sheet to take notes.
- Get into groups with your partners (given). You will be assigned one part of the pledge.
- Discuss why your part of the Pledge is important for everyone. Why is it important to you?
- Choose a person in the group to be the Document Writer. The DW will create a new Google Doc and type your part of the pledge into the document.
- Your group will write a script for your video. You will introduce yourselves. You will read your part of the pledge together in unison, or choose one person to read it. Each of you will take turns talking about why it is important. You can also talk about a situation or a story that is an example that relates to the pledge. Script Template
- Type your script into your Google document. Call it Pledge Script and share it with your partners. You will use the Script as you record your own and your partners' "story".
- Find your camera in your apps menu Launcher.
- Record your script for your group's part of the pledge. See example.
- Your recording will go into your Files folder (blue folder inside Launcher) you will need to save it to your Google Drive.
- Create a Google Slide. See example.
- Add your part of the Pledge and it's number.
- Add the names of your Group Members.
- Insert your video. It should be in the Recent part of your Google Drive.

- To send out your survey, click on the Send button and click on the link icon. Copy the link to your survey. Reply All to the email Ms. Cutsinger sent to you. Greet your recipients and ask them to please fill out your survey. Paste the link into the body of the email. Sign and Send.
- Open your responses in a spreadsheet. Directions found here. Highlight a column of data. Alphabetize the email addresses. Highlight a row of data. Save as a .pdf. Turn in through Google Classroom.

Assignment #1: Introduction Challenge! Create a short presentation in Google Slides that tells me and the class something (many things) about you! Tell us about the things that you like and are interested in. Tell us about your family, your hobbies, favorite music, movies, sports, video games, books, anything you would like to! You will need a minimum of 4 slides plus 1 Title Slide. You can use pictures from home or from another device. Plan to present on Wednesday.
- Name your Slideshow with your first and last name. Click on "Untitled Document" and type to rename.
- Include 2 pictures from your Drive or from the Internet on each slide. Click on the image button (looks like mountains) or Click on Insert>Image. Choose from your Drive or Search for one.

- Spellcheck each Slide. Look for words that are underlined in red. Click on Tools and Spelling.
- Create a Digital Literacy folder in your Drive. Go to your Google Drive and click the blue New button. Choose Folder. Name the folder Digital Literacy. Go back to your Slides, click on File in the upper left hand corner, click on Move To. Click on the arrow to the right of My Drive (hover over My Drive for the arrow to appear). Choose the Digital Literacy folder you just made and click on Move Here (blue button at the bottom of the window).
